We’re proud to work with Whitehead & Howarth Chartered Accountants – a local business with a proud history spanning over 100 years. Read the case study here, in their own words!
Can you give us details about what you do, what you specialise in and why people choose to use you?
WH Accountants is a well-established accountancy practice serving clients across Leyland, Lytham St Annes, and the wider Lancashire area.
We specialise in supporting owner‑managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies with accounting, tax, compliance and proactive business advice. Clients choose us because of our personal approach, long‑standing relationships, and practical, jargon‑free advice that helps them run better businesses.
Why did you first decide you wanted to create your own branded gifts?
We wanted to stay front of mind with clients and contacts after networking events, exhibitions and meetings. Branded gifts allow us to reinforce our brand in a practical way and create a positive, lasting impression beyond the initial conversation.
What is your objective when using branded gifts?
Our objective is brand awareness and retention. We want items that are genuinely useful so that our brand is seen regularly, whether that is in a client’s office, home or while they are out and about locally.
How successful have the gifts been for you, and do they fulfil your objectives?
They have been very successful. Clients regularly comment on how useful the items are, and we often see our branded bags and pens being reused.
This reinforces our presence in Leyland, St Annes, Lytham and surrounding areas and supports our networking and exhibition activity.
Have you any particular success stories or anecdotes relating to your business gifts?
One of our most successful campaigns was the #leaderbagontour campaign using branded cotton bags. These travelled with me on a stock‑take trip around Stoke, Leicester and Walsall, and also featured my son running around a town water feature on Lord Street, Southport with one of the bags.
The campaign gained a great response and really brought our brand personality to life.
Have you used different types of products for specific campaigns or target audiences?
Yes. We use roller banners for reception areas and business exhibitions, cotton shoppers for clients to carry books and records, promotional pens, pads, keyrings, bottle‑opener keyrings, badges, trolley coins and selfie signs.
We have also used logo‑branded cakes from other suppliers for special occasions and events.
What attracted you to BusinessGiftUK.com as a supplier?
BusinessGiftUK had always been a go‑to company in our minds from previous promotions and networking events.
After advice from their Managing Director, Steve Ward, whose knowledge and experience is clear, we felt confident in our choices. They also offer a very large brochure, competitive pricing compared to local suppliers, and a strong range of environmentally friendly products.
Are you a return customer? What makes BusinessGiftUK your top choice?
Yes, we are a return customer.
The quality, value for money, range of products and knowledgeable advice make BusinessGiftUK our first choice for promotional merchandise.
How do you see yourselves using more photo gift products in the future?
We plan to continue using practical, everyday items and are particularly interested in products such as ice scrapers and pens that also act as phone holders, as these combine usefulness with high visibility.
Is there any aspect of service that you think BusinessGiftUK could do better?
We have been very happy with the service received and have no significant improvements to suggest.
