It’s important to give back to the community

At BusinessGiftUK.com we advocate that all successful businesses should be aware of, and campaign for, local worthwhile causes.

We’re very proud of our work with charities and our involvement in north west projects. We believe a successful business has the unique platform to be an influential voice in a local community by creating awareness and drumming up fundraising campaigns. What’s more, it’s great fun and a morale booster for our own staff.

Particularly in the run up to Christmas, it’s hugely rewarding to build long-lasting relationships with worthy causes and other like-minded businesses. We thought the festive period would be a good time to showcase the charities we have helped and illustrate how easy it is to get involved.

Charity Challenge in aid of Rosemere CF

Rosemere Cancer Foundation

We created the Charity Christmas Challenge for our networking contacts to donate £5 to Rosemere Cancer Foundation. In return they received a Santa hat, a chocolate advent calendar, a Brite-Mat mouse mat and entry into our competition to win 100 custom-printed Brite-Mat mouse mats. They were asked to tweet or share pictures, wearing the Santa hat, with the tagline #SantaSelfieBGUK. All entries were collated on Facebook by our team for Rosemere to choose a winner. This raised £300 for the charity.

We regularly supply branded merchandise, at charitable rates, to Rosemere, and donate products and samples for use in their regular tombola. Our team have attended many functions and events in support of this key, local cause.

Preston Inanimate Object Water Bottles

Preston Inanimate Objects

We supplied 200 subsidised (less than cost) metal sports water bottles, with a dye-sublimation design, featuring the Preston Phone Box, the Fishergate Bollard, the Lostock Hall Henge, The Preston Swing Bridge, The Leyland Tank and Gilly’s Duck. Collectively, these local influencer Twitter characters are known as the Preston Inanimate Objects. They share a lot of fun and banter online, and support local charities.

In 2017 we supplied branded mugs, sold in aid of Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Galloways Society for the Blind. This year the sports bottles are being sold in aid of Heartbeat and St Catherine’s Hospice, who will both receive £250. The campaign has been enthusiastically backed by John Gilmore of BBC Radio Lancashire, who is a great ambassador for local charities, events and tourism.

Sacroma UK Quiz night

Sarcoma UK

We have been key supporters of the local fundraising initiatives of accountant Mark Howarth, who was diagnosed with a Sarcoma cancer of the lower leg, early in 2018. As well as supplying fundraising and awareness gifts and t-shirts, at cost, our team have taken part in charity walks, wine tasting, balloon releases and quiz nights.

We have now sponsored, organised and hosted two successful quiz nights at Fox Lane Sports and Social Club, who kindly let use their ballroom, free of charge, on both occasions. Our MD Steve Ward set the questions and compared the quiz.

Mark Howarth said on Facebook: “Thanks to everyone who made it a great night … we raised almost £450. This helps us get even nearer to the target of £3,000 which Lyndsey Howarth needs to run the London Marathon next April.”

CARES Charity Piggy Bank

CARES Cancer Charity

We donated promotional logo animations to this charity in June 2019 and supplied branded, fundraising piggy banks at charitable rates. We received this lovely email back from the organisation.

Hi Steve,

Natalie has emailed Nicola to thank her for the speedy service as we have received the pigs this morning and we love them, so thank you very much.

Many thanks to you all once again.

Kind regards

Sharon & Natalie

City of Liverpool FC in the Community Football For Everyone campaign

We donated garments and kit to this Football in the Community scheme. City of Liverpool FC In The Community tweeted, “Many thanks to our friends from @BusinessGiftUK for the kind donation of two boxes of football kit and warm clothing. This will greatly assist our refugee and asylum seeker footballers, particularly during the winter!”
