We have always been animal lovers at BusinessGiftUK.com, having had office cats Truffle and then Lotus during the first 30 years of trading. The team are now delighted to have recruited a most unusual customer this year. Felix the Huddersfield Station cat, social media star and official “Senior Pest Controller” now has her own range of branded souvenir merchandise.
Our Director and cat lover, Ann Ward explains the background to this unusual story.
“We recently lost our beloved semi-long hair tuxedo cat, Lotus, to a road accident and by coincidence, had just started to follow social media superstar, Felix on her daily Facebook page. The page outlines her adventures at Huddersfield railway station. We then decided to visit her, during a day trip to Huddersfield, and received a very warm welcome from Angie Hunte, one of the station’s team leaders as well as receiving lots of purrs from Felix.
“As a thank you, we produced some clearview coasters for the staff, featuring photos of the lovely Felix. They were so popular that a few weeks later, we were asked to make up some clearview keyrings, featuring this very photogenic cat, in various poses. On Saturday 29th July, they were given out to young visitors to the station, with other small gifts in goody bags, donated by the staff.
“Felix has become close to our hearts, so we were delighted to offer them a very discounted price on this promotional material and in exchange, to become a member of the Felix fan base.”
Now the Station staff have extended the offering by adding a range of black and white pens and pencils for fans of this feline superstar.
MD Stephen Ward added “It looks like we have have a purrfect customer, got our claws into her contract and both sides have a furrly good deal!”.
Felix, also known as The Floof, said “Please read my new book Felix the Huddersfield Sation Cat by Kate Moore. All proceeds go to Prostate Cancer UK.”
