Leyland based promotional business gift distributors, BusinessGiftUK.com, are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Digital Marketing apprentice, Jasmin Latham. In doing so the company has honoured a Lancashire Skills Pledge and will be working with Runshaw College Apprenticeships to develop Jasmin’s Level 3 digital skills.
What is the Lancashire Skills Pledge?
The Skills and Employment Hub was established in 2013. It is a vital team enabling a balanced, skilled and broad job market that contributes to the economic growth across Lancashire. The Apprenticeship Action Plan is Lancashire’s response to maximise the benefits of on-the-job learning for businesses by working with companies, partners and the Government. This program was founded to change the misconceptions about these courses and promote their benefits.
Lancashire skills and employment have 4 priorities:
• Inspiring the future generation
• helping local people to get recruited into employment
• upskilling existing employees
• influencing and informing Lancashire’s priorities.

Who is Jasmin Latham?
Jasmin Latham – Level 3 Digital Marketing
Why did you choose Runshaw?
I decided to come back to Runshaw College as I previously completed my BTEC in Art and Design here. When studying I not only had a great academic experience but also in terms of support and wellbeing. So, when looking for vacancies for apprenticeships I knew that Runshaw was the best place to start!
Why did you choose this apprenticeship?
When doing my BTEC at Runshaw I knew that art was the footpath for me, but I could never really find a job that suited me, and I didn’t want to go to university. This is when I decided that an apprenticeship would be the way forward. When reading about digital marketing I new that this was what I should go for as it allows me to be creative using my graphics /art skills but also gaining work experience in marketing and media whilst earning money.
Why did I choose Businessgiftuk?
When walking into my interview I was very nervous as anyone would be, but as soon as I sat down the team at BusinessGiftUK made me feel very welcome. Throughout the entirety of the interview, I could tell that the feeling of family/togetherness was a big part of BusinessGiftUK and straight away I knew this was a business I would like to work for. Since starting here I have felt nothing but a part of their team and they have been amazing with any help/ support I have needed.
